Who can evoke in kids positive emotions and laughter? Who can give kids colorful balloons and paint their faces? After which show the children are all excited? Of course, we are talking about magicians and clowns. Kids love them, but do all of them have an opportunity to go to a show? What about sick children? Do children with cancer have an opportunity to see a clown? Now we sure can say “yes, they have!” Thanks to our partner, foundation “Zaporuka”, volunteers from “Ty Anhel” could attend a class “Games in a Hospital Ward”. The training was necessary to learn all the tricks of being a hospital clown and to learn how to behave with children. The children with cancer need special treatment because every careless word or gesture can upset them.

As part of the project “I Speak English” that we began last year, our foundation had a goal to facilitate the learning of the English language and to provide the children with the English language textbooks. To realize the project, we had to raise 10,000UAH. As soon as we were able to raise the whole amount, we bought contemporary textbooks, dictionaries, grammar reference books, posters and other materials. We visited Ivano-Frankivs Children’s Shelter, Vygoda Rehabilitation Center, and Dolyna Orphanage. The children happily greeted us, showed us around their institutions, and demonstrated to us their knowledge of the English language.
