We would like to share the latest news about our friend Volodymir Oliynik. It’s been a while since we wrote about him, and during this time Volodymir had two more chemotherapy blocks. It was harder on the boy than the previous chemos. It was painful to see Volodymir in bed, almost not moving, and yet he was so active not very long ago during the Easter week. At present Volodymir is in hospital. The doctors are watching him after the last chemotherapy.

For three weeks already Olexiy is undergoing treatment in Kiev. Doctors are careful with him and they are trying to avoid everything that can harm the boy’s health. Olexiy had high fever the first week in hospital and it was hard to begin the treatment because his body was adjusting. Except the treatment, Olexiy had an opportunity to do some sightseeing, to walk Kiev streets, to see Kreshatyk and other well-known places and to talk to local people. Between the procedures in hospital, the boy is reading books, listens to the music, and watches TV. He dreams to recover fast and return home.

Every year on June 1, we celebrate the International Children’s Day, a wonderful holiday filled with joy, hope, and happiness. Children are very precious for all of us. They are our joy and our future. In the department of hematology, the holiday was celebrated a little bit later, on Friday June 7. We prepared a surprise for the children and invited a clown Nadia Kostiovych and a face painting artist Nataliya. The celebration began with a clown’s performance and all the children were watching it with interest. Later we had funny contests for kids and their parents. Both children and adults were dancing and cheering for one another.

The organizer of the exhibition is the charitable foundation “Ty Anhel” . The exhibition “Charity Through Camera Lens” presents the best 40 photographs selected out of 630 that we received from all the corners of Ukraine. Photographers recorded the moments of philanthropy in education, culture, healthcare, social protection, community lives, and volunteering through the eyes of the children who benefit from it.

The long-awaited summer is here. All the children love summer more than other seasons because they do not have to wake up early, go to school, and do homework. The summer vacation started, but Rogatyn boarding school still has kids. Most of the children left for summer camps, only 37 children are left. But they are not bored: they have fun and make noise for the entire school. Charitable foundation “Ty Anhel” decided to organize a day full of events for these little brats because we know that it is important to recharge and get the positive impressions and emotions. The day began with games such as badminton and soccer. Later we all went to a swimming pool. It was fun to learn different swimming styles.

Once in a while we see people who take advantage of other people’s misfortune. The current trend is to ask for money in the subway. Unfortunately, our foundation became a victim of such scam. Recently we were told that in Kiev a group of people is asking for money using the information from our website and our logo. They stole the story and are asking for money for Diana Shpakovich who is under the care of our foundation. We would like to tell that we are not associated in any way with these people and we do not raise money for the children in such way. If you ever see these scams, please notify immediately the appropriate authorities and stop the criminals.

May is over and we would like to talk about our achievements for the past month. Our foundation received 58,861UAH ($7,358) in donations and we spent 26,944UAH ($3,368). We thank our friends and partners from Lisbon (Portugal) from Cathedral of St John the Baptist for raising 2,649UAH ($331) for the children who are in our care. This month we implemented the project “Little Hero” aimed to help Volodimir Oliynyk, we purchased an orthopedic bike for Arthur Kinsela, and we helped Olexiy Dolyshniy to begin the chemotherapy in Kiev.

Diana Shpakovych Is Taking Her Sixth Chemotherapy

In spite of some problems, the first three blocks of chemotherapy were smooth for Diana Shpakovich and after them some improvements in Diana’s health condition were noted. The fourth chemotherapy block was much harder. The girl had high fever and two times she needed blood transfusion. After this block Diana and her mom went to Hungary for oncologist’s consultation. The tests there showed good results: metastases disappeared and there was no hepatitis. Diana still has a tumor on the right adrenal gland, and she needs two more chemotherapy blocks.
Nazar Kovalski’s Health Condition is Difficult

Nazar is undergoing the third chemotherapy block. He worries because the first two were very hard on him. He had high fever, stomatitis, his blood tests were poor, and he felt nausea. The boy needed blood transfusion and tube feeding, and he was taking expensive antibiotics and antifungal remedies.

Evelina has almost turned her five yet. The life story of this cute girl started in April 2016. Evelina is an early bird who came in life too early from her mother's tummy. The six-month-old baby of 870 mm weight and 35 cm height frightened the doctors of the maternity hospital. No one knew what would happen to the baby; whether would she cope with this and whether would she be able to live a full life in the future.
