From the early childhood Olexiy had many health problems. He constantly had colds and it was hard to recover from them. The doctors could not understand why it was happening and finally in 2005 he was diagnosed with Bruton’s Disease (low-to-nonexistent levels of immunoglobulins and severe deficiency of plasma). It is a rare health condition that only one in 250 000 boys has. This condition cannot be cured, and any, even the most insignificant, disease can be fatal. For the rest of his life, Olexiy needs a special immunoglobulin therapy and every month the boy needs to go to the hospital. Luckily, immunoglobulin therapy had good results. The boy began to grow rapidly, to do sports, and his mom believed that he could fully recover. Yet, the therapy had complications. In 2013 Olexiy was diagnosed with Hepatitis B and C that he contracted undergoing the therapy. For Olexiy these diseases are deadly.

Michael is the youngest in our family. From his birth, we were fighting for his life. He was born prematurely and with heart failure. Michael was weak and he often had colds that ended with laryngitis, attacks, and seizures. Michael was under doctors’ supervision all the time. Several times, we took him to Lviv and Kiev for consultations with specialists. In 2011, Michael started first grade. He was weak and tired, and he had frequent colds. Nonetheless, he was eager to study. On January 14, 2012, Michael complained of a stomachache, and his stomach was big and hard on touch.

Smart, kind, and wonderful boy Pavlo began the treatment of Leukemia in 2007. With a lot of efforts and after the long years of treatment, the boy is in remission, but the family still has to deal with many problems. During a regular follow up appointment, Pavlo was diagnosed with a late stage of Hepatitis B, that now is turning into cirrhosis. Pavlo has been treated for it, but in four years the disease has not been cured yet. The treatment should be continued, and this time according to the conclusion from Bogomolets National Medical University, the boy needs to take for eight months the costly drug PegIntron. Usually, after several months of taking PegIntron, the laboratory analyses show the positive dynamics.

The life of this family was ordinary – happy family, weekdays, holiday. Two daughters were as beautiful as flowers. Then unexpectedly, the misfortune came. The older daughter Vira was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
We did not want to believe that this young girl has such hard ordeal ahead. The disease interrupts attending school and requires long term treatment and money. It is depressing for Vira because she excels at school and dreams to graduate and go to college.
We sincerely believe that with God’s help, with the knowledgeable and skillful doctors, with Vira’s own strong will, and with the support of the caring people, the girl can become healthy and happy again.
