On the eve of St. Nicholas Day in Dolyna Hospital a children`s prayers flew to St. Nicholas. Acathistus to the Miracle-Worker was held by clergyman of church Ihor Lipchanskyi. The representatives of CF “Ty Anhel” gave children sweet gifts. Yulia Mykytyn handed gifts over.

Mariana Kruk has already finished the fourth chemotherapy of first protocol. The results were bad. The level of analyses rapidly decreased. She was infused with blood, platelets and other ancillary medical substances. Then the level of analyses returned to normal, the girl was on the mend. She ate better and began to smile. Trepan biopsy was done – special needles with threads, which are used in this kind of biopsy help to do analysis more accurate and to make the procedure both for doctor and for patient easier. We don`t know results yet, but the mother begins to prepare the girl for doctor`s examination in Kyiv, where we will know about further treatment.

We, as a Charity foundation, that takes care about children could not forget about this day, moreover we think, that it is our obligation to give sweet presents from St. Nicholas for all our wards. During November we managed to realize project “St. Nicholas Day-3”. Thanks this project, we gathered 14 000 UAH. This means, that St. Nicholas will come to more than half thousand children. Artem Rerych begins the second chemotherapy

Artem was infused with 8 injections of “Tsytozar”. One more paracentesis was done. The results showed, that there are changes in treatment, the state of his health is on the mend. After finishing first chemotherapy protocol, the boy was sent home for two weeks. At the end of November he came to hospital again in order to begin the second chemotherapy. New analyses showed, that the boy has problems, analysis of blood is poor. He was infused with plasma and the whole night with other medicine for washing the cells before the chemotherapy. Unfortunately, medicaments could not get into organism, because subclavian artery was clogged up.

Mykola had the second block of chemotherapy without complications. The computer tomography showed, that the boy is on the mend. Then, he started the third chemotherapy with ease. This time it was not so good as previous time. The stomatitis appeared. He ate nearly nothing, had a high temperature and suffered from pain. Thanks God, he has finished the third block of chemotherapy. But doctors say, that he needs three more blocks of chemotherapy. Thank you friends, that you together with us help children to recover. With your help, we got on account of CF “Ty Anhel” – 76 631,04 UAH. We spent not all money, and it means, that children are getting better. But this month, new wards appeared. So, much money was spent on their needs. And, of course, we did not forget about other our wards. First things first. We spent 25 488,27 UAH in November. We spent from this sum of money 3 230,37 UAH on medicine for children from Ivano-Frankivsk Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation, 4 348,37 UAH on the chemotherapy for Mariana Kruk, 2 735,13 UAH on medicine for Rerych Artem, 1 165,20 on medicine for Mykytiuk Sofiia.
Children learnt the basics of Petrykivsky painting

Last week, at the end of art-therapy class, our volunteer Mariia Pazyniuk promised to introduce the basics of Petrykivsky painting to patients of Ivano-frankivsk Oncohematology Department. We keep our promises! So that day, having different paints, brushes and good mood, we began a regular class. Petrykivka is a kind of traditional ukrainian decorative national painting, which originates from Petrykivka village, Dnipropetrovsk oblast. Household items, that were decorated with ornaments in Petrykivka style, preserved from seventeenth century!
Sofiia Mykytiuk continues her treatment

The next block of chemotherapy for Sofiia has already begun. The first weeks of treatment were not so bad, without complications. However, the stomatitis appeared on the 26th day of treatment. The disease was internal - gullet edema, higher temperature. Even febrifugal medicine and injections could not help. The girl became very weak. It was hard for her to eat and the stomatitis had appeared in the mouth. The level of analyses rapidly decreased. She had a blood infusion. The child had the state, that doctors call “aplasia” – she slept everytime and ate nothing. She was infused with “Kabiven” (this medicine is prescribed mainly for children, that are in intensive care in hospitals) in order to enrich her organism with nutrients.

Serhii Khachko has already had two blocks of chemotherapy. After treatment it seemed, that the disease went away. However, the second computer tomography showed, that the situation is not so good as we thought. The cure the non-Hodgkin lymphomas requires long time and stronger medicine. Serhii doesn`t take the third chemotherapy, because we cannot predict the reaction of his organism on bigger dose. But we believe, that medicine will help the boy, because we have with you only one aim – to cure completely.

Evelina has almost turned her five yet. The life story of this cute girl started in April 2016. Evelina is an early bird who came in life too early from her mother's tummy. The six-month-old baby of 870 mm weight and 35 cm height frightened the doctors of the maternity hospital. No one knew what would happen to the baby; whether would she cope with this and whether would she be able to live a full life in the future.
