2 years old - acute lymphoblastic leukemia
 
Our Rostik was born March 21, 2009, second pregnancy, full term. Immediately we began to have problems. The boy was born with a defect: cleft palate. We were shocked! While I was pregnant, it was not diagnosed. We wanted to correct everything right away, but the doctors convinced us to wait with the surgery until Rostik is four years old.
When Rostik was 16 months old, we turned to neurologist because Rostik could not walk by himself. He could walk only when he was holding onto something, but still his walk was unsteady.
After performing several tests in Neurological Department at the hospital, Rostik was diagnosed with compensatory hydrocephalus. We were in shock and tears again. However, in spite of everything, we began physical therapy that was very painful for the boy (massage, exercise therapy, paraffin, and electrophoresis). Physical therapy had positive results: Rostik started walking and climbing on chairs and sofas (in general, he is a very positive and active child). All this time, he also had mild anemia.
 
In the past September, we were able to raise a little bit his hemoglobin level. Rostik got fever, running nose, coughing. We thought at first that it was because of teething. In October, we noticed that he had stomachaches and we took Rostik to the hospital. After all the tests were done, our son was diagnosed with acute leukemia.
 
At present, we are at the hospital undergoing intensive treatment.
