May 23,1998. Diagnosis - acute leukemia

 

Dizziness, frequent nosebleeds, headaches, and fever is the beginning  of a new sad story that will have pain, tears, victories, and defeats.
When Mykola’s parents noticed alarming symptoms, they turned to a village doctor who examined the boy and told Mykola’s parents about enlarged lymph nodes and low hemoglobin. After a visit to Ivano-Frankivskk Children’s hospital and OHMADYT in Kiev a verdict was made – acute leukemia.


 
“Our family did not expect such a blow of fate. We were scared and could not fully understand what had happened to our child, “ – Oksana Vasilievna, Mykola’s mother, told us.

 

Mykola was a healthy boy, and he never had any serious health conditions. He was practicing judo and wrestling, and he won many awards in competitions. And then suddenly we received this news…

 

“The doctors at Ivano-Frankivsk Children’s Hospital explained us the meaning of the diagnosis and the algorithm of the treatment. They set our family in the right mood to combat this disease, and we began the treatment.
At present, our son is in the hematological department, and the treatment is hard on him. Mykola complains about the pain in his joints and his fever goes up to 40C. Small blue dots, microscopic hemmorrages, appeared on his arms, and white spots are all over his back.


 
Mykola needs long and expensive treatment, and that is why we are turning to everybody who is reading this page. Please help Mykola to win this trial.
