15 years old. Diagnosis - acute lymphoblastic leukemia

Oleg was born on June 24, 1995 in Gorodenka, Ivano-Frankivsk region. As he was growing, he was a very smart, curious, and serious boy. He began to talk and to read at a very early age. He is reading a lot, mostly historical fiction, and he is writing poems.

When Oleg was 6, he started school and he was always an excellent student, later he was accepted to gymnasium. His favorite subjects are history, law, geography, English and Ukrainian languages and literature.

Oleg dreams to become a political scientist or a lawyer. We were always sure that Oleg will have a bright and happy future because he is such a goal oriented person.

However, the adversity happened when nobody expected. When Oleg was taking exams after 9th grade in June, he did not feel well, he was tired too much, and complained about headaches and pain in his legs. We thought that it was happening because of the heavy workload during exams, but when we saw bluish dots on his legs, we took Oleg to the doctor. The tests that the doctors made had alarming results and we were referred to the Department of Hematology at Regional Children’s Hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk, and after that to OHMADET in Kiev. The additional tests confirmed T-lineage acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

We all believe, and Oleg is absolutely convinced that he will recover. God will help us in this challenging battle for the life of my only son. Now, Oleg is undergoing the first stage of treatment in Ivano-Frankivsk, after that Oleg will continue the chemotherapy in OHMADET in Kiev.

I believe that kind people will respond to our adversity and will help us in this uneasy journey to recovery!

Creative Thursday in Children’s OncoHematology Department

Every time when volunteers of the CF “You are an Angel” visit children in the oncology department, they try to be as original, creative, and interesting as possible for small patients. Art therapist Maria Pazyniuk of the foundation always helps them in this. To make creative classes versatile and unique, to interest the children's audience, the art therapist invited her female students to a traditional Thursday creative class.

Charity Foundation “You are an Angel” and Philip Morris International Company: cooperation continues

The “You are an Angel” charitable foundation and the Philip Morris International company have signed a contract for the second time for the foundation to receive a grant for the development of the “House of an Angel” children's town located in Goshiv in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. We would like to remind you that in March 2022, the CF “You are an Angel” received the first tranche of funds in the amount of USD 76,000, which were allocated by the Philip Morris company as part of the charitable corporate project “Projects with a heart”.
