Date of birth: 26.04.2016 Diagnosed with Phenylketonuria
Matvii is a wanted child. Each member of a family rejoiced in a newborn child, but after a month, parents got to know the diagnose of a boy – phenylketonuria. It was an answer for mother`s question “Why he belches so often?”. The organism doesn`t digest protein.
Now they (Matvii and his mother) are on the registry in Children`s Hospital, Regional Medical Genetics Center and in Lviv interregional Medical Genetic Center “Institute of hereditary diseases”. The baby always takes a test on determination of phenylalanine in blood. There is an everyday need of РКU – anamix infant (5 cans per month, 720 UAH – the cost of one can) to eliminate from the organism. With weight increase, the need in РКU – anamix infant increases too.
Borkovski family – a young family with two children, orderly and responsible. A mother never missed feeding time, she always controls weight before and after, and monitors the level of phenylalanine in blood. However, there is lack of money for treatment. It is very expensive for parents, they even don`t have money for unexpected cases. Thus, we just ask you to help a family, because Matvii grows and the high level of phenylalanine prevents normal brain development. In another case (without treatment), the child will be prone to mental deficiency.
