Date of birth: December 08,1997. Diagnosis - lymphoma

Last September Christina went to school just like other teens her age in her native village Nebyliv, Rozhniativ region. The girl planned to do a lot during the school year. She thought about her first steps in the adult life because she was in the ninth grade. Christina’s parents wanted their daughter to continue  family traditions and to study medicine, and Christina promised to think about it.

However, the fate  presented Bilobryvka family with a terrible trial, and they heard the scary word cancer in their lives. September 15 Christina was diagnosed with pneumonia. For three day she had high fever, and after that the x-ray and MRI scans showed a tumor. Further and histological examinations in Lviv and Kiev confirmed the diagnosis: Hodgkin's lymphoma.

The  final diagnosis made October 17 was an extraordinary shock for the family, yet they did not have any time for despair. Christina had to begin the battle for her life immediately, and October 25 Christina began chemotherapy. As of now Christina had three blocks of chemo, and three more blocks are ahead.  Every block of chemo was more difficult for the girl than the previous one. After the third block that ended January 31, Christina needed a long break. Her blood test results were poor and she had some complications and needed blood transfusions multiple times. During the whole month Christina had to take antibiotics. Now parents and doctors believe that the blood tests will improve and Christina will be able to continue the treatment.

Christina still needs blood donors with  А(ІІ) Rh(-). The family does not know any people in Ivano-Frankivsk, and it is extremely difficult for them to find donors. Yet, Christina still has long and difficult treatment ahead and she will need blood donors. Christina’s parents and the charitable foundation “Ty Anhel” is  asking people with the blood type indicated above to become Christina’s donors. If you can do it, please call Christina’s mom (38) 097 79 59 545.

Christina loves to read, especially she loves science fiction. Back home she read twice all Harry Potter books. Chistina continues to read a lot in hospital, and in such way she thinks less about her disease. She says that her favorite author is Arthur Conan Doyle.

The disease separated Christiana with her father and younger brother Stepan. They live in Nebylov and cannot visit often Christina and her mom in hospital. Stepan is one year younger than Christina, he is in eighth  grade. After school Stepan has to take care of the house and the farm until his father is back from work. Christina’s mother remembers that before cancer, the children were not always friendly with each other and they fought a lot over small things. The trial that the fate gave to Christina resolved all these misunderstandings. Stephan and Christina miss each other and call each other every day. They are upset if they cannot see each other on the weekends.

Christina’s family is turning to everybody with a plea to help them in their battle with Christina’s terrible disease..
