Light. Touch. Smell. Sounds. These are the first things a baby meets, introducing to this world. Feelings and sensations are the main guides in our lives. Charity Foundation “You are an Angel” aims to help the wards of Ivano-Frankivsk center for socio-psychological rehabilitation to access the richness and depth of emotions by sensory room. To implement this project for orphans we are going to raise almost 40 thousand hryvnias.

Despite of their relatively young age, this center wards had to endure a lot of grief. When a child is in a stressful situation, he/she retires into one’s shell, does not want to contact, and develops slower. Irritability, anger, rage, fear, pain, loneliness – this is not a full list of emotions, prevail in the hearts of our friends from the rehabilitation center. And although the psychologists constantly work with children, sometimes this is not enough.

The sensory room installations are quite new in the world. First of all, it was used only for therapeutic purposes – for work with people with cerebral palsy or prone to mental disorders. Later this room was used for prophylaxis of stress and neurosis. Scientists noticed that being in a sensory room delights younger visitors, so it began to use for educational purposes.

It is proved that child's emotional state improves in a sensory room; this room being decreases aggressiveness of a child, relieves nervous tension, and normalizes sleeping. All this helps the child to open up, to feel himself/herself needed. Young children faster and better control their senses, respectively faster and better their mental development.

By itself, the sensory room is a room consisting of a large number of different types of stimulants that affect the organs of sight, hear, smell, tactile and vestibular receptors. They affect sedative, tonic and restorative on child’s mental and emotional condition. For the child this is the perfect environment not only for relax, but to get new view of the world, new sensations, to charge with energy for activity. The main task of a sensory room is to affect the senses, to cause a variety of sensory experiences.

Our home for each of us is the place where we feel safe, where the hustle and bustle of the surrounding world is not concerned with our hearts, and remains out of doors. Children of Ivano-Frankivsk center for sociopsychological rehabilitation have no homes, no loving parents, in the arms which they could calm down. They have no own room, and even the bed they sleep today, tomorrow will be a shelter for others child. Join the initiative of the charitable Foundation "You-Angel" and help us to give at least a small drop of positive feelings and emotions to the pupils of the rehabilitation center.
