St Nicholas' Day – the patron saint of children - 2 (COMPLETED)

The You Are an Angel charity hopes with all its heart that the children in our care will have their dreams come true. That is why we want to organize a little celebration for them on St Nicholas' Day. But we need your help to visit the kids at the Ivano-Frankovsk orphanage, the Dolinskiy boarding school, the Rogatinskiy specialized boarding school and Ivano-Frankovsk children’s hospital.
 
Many, many years ago, a boy destined to become world famous was born into a Christian family. God bestowed upon him an extremely kind and sensitive heart. In turn, he shared his love and compassion with those he met who were less fortunate, especially children. You're unlikely to find anyone in Ukraine today who doesn’t know who he is. We are of course talking about St Nicholas, the Miracle Worker!
 
When fluffy snowflakes start to fall from the sky and intricate frost patterns start appearing on our windows, all the children will rush to write letters to the saint. They will share their dreams and wishes, and promise to be polite, study hard and eat their porridge. Each child believes that St Nicholas will hear them out and fulfil these sincere requests.
 
For the team at the You Are an Angel charity, the bright eyes and big smiles of our little friends are miracles in themselves. We make every effort to see them on the kids’ faces as often as possible. But at times, we need you to get involved: some of the children in our care might not have parents at all, while the parents of others may not have the extra money to spend on presents, putting all of their savings into medical treatment. Yet how can there be a celebration without gifts and sweets?! To make sure the party happens, we need to raise 13,000 hryvnas ($1600 USD). By helping us, you can work miracles here and now, just like St Nicholas did in his time.
 
 
 
 
 
St Nicholas' Day is a celebration of warmth, joy, kindness and love. Let’s do what we can to bring these things to the little people of our country, and perhaps one day they too will want to help those in need.
