The management team is responsible for auditing the receipts of charitable contributions and their transfers to recipients, explanations of the transfers, and the need for the events and the programs.
In 2009, our Foundation received 32,591UAH ($4,074) of charitable contributions. This money was used for charitable purposes that are in line with the objectives of the Foundation outlined in its bylaws.
During the year, the Foundation consistently was helping the children with cancer that were undergoing treatment in the departments of nephrology and hematology at Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Children’s Hospital. To pay for medications and medical supplies for the children, our Foundation raised and donated 9,076UAH ($1,134).
Our Foundation organized a celebration of St. Nick’s day at the departments of nephrology and hematology and purchased gifts for the patients for 800UAH ($100). The transfer of the gifts to the hospital is confirmed in the paperwork.
The purchases of the medications, medical supplies, and gifts were made based on the request letters from the administration of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Children’s Hospital.
Several events were possible in 2010 because of the strong fundraising efforts.
Clean water to the hospital
The department of nephrology and hematology consistently received supply of fresh bottled water “Alaska”, and it gave the possibility to the little patients and their parents to drink high quality water. In 2010 and 2011, we raised and spent 7,000UAH ($875) for the project.
St. Nicks’ Sack – 2010. The children from nephrology, hematology, and surgical departments of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Children’s Hospital and the children from the orphanage “Tepliy Dim” received gifts for 5,097UAH ($637).
During the year, our Foundation consistently helped the children with cancer that were undergoing treatment at the department of nephrology and hematology at Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Children’s Hospital. To pay for the medications and medical supplies, we raised and spent 87,595UAH ($10,949).
A new Infusion B-Braun Pump has been purchased and donated to the department of nephrology and hematology at Ivano-Frankivsk Children’s Hospital. The cost of the project is 19,000 UAH ($2,375).
Our Foundation donated to Ivano-Frankivsk Children’s Hospital the following: stands for infusions, heating fans for hospital wards, bactericidal lamps, and cafeteria tables. The cost of the project is 3,835.20 UAH ($480).
In 2010 our Foundation received charitable contributions of 82,273 grivnas ($10,284)
We began collaborating with Maria Pidgirianka Puppet Theater in Ivano-Frankivsk. The actors from the theater many times volunteered to visit the hospital and the orphanage “Tepliy Dim”.
Our Foundation collaborated with VAB Bank, which is our partner in many charitable events. VAB Bank employees visit the children with serious health conditions and participate in art-therapy classes. The bank financed the events organized by the foundation that educate the general public on the early diagnostics of cancer in children.
The management team emphasizes that in two years of its operations, our Foundation gained trust among the people in Ivano-Frankivsk region and Ukraine in general.
In 2011, our Foundation received charitable contributions of 82,145 grivnas ($10,272).
The biggest one time donation was 4,000 grivnas ($500).
In 2011, our Foundation spent 68,267 grivnas ($8,533) for the following projects:
- Medications and medical supplies for 49,120 UAH ($6,140) for the children with cancer that were undergoing treatment at Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Children’s Hospital
- Blood pressure monitors, inhaler, and printer for the departments of nephrology and hematology at Ivano-Frankivsk Children’s Hospital. The cost of the project is 1,616 UAH ($200).
- TV, chairs, irons, diapers for the children at Ivano-Frankivsk Children’s Shelter. The cost of the project is 4,782 UAH ($598).
- Rehabilitation apparatus “Graviton” for the children with cerebral palsy has been donated to Vygoda Reabilitation Center. The cost of the project is 7,000 UAH ($875).
St. Nick’s Sack – 2011
We prepared gifts for the children from the departments of nephrology and hematology, and surgery unit of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Children’s Hospital, children from the orphanage “Tepliy Dim”, children from Vygoda Rehabilitation Center, and children from Ivano-Frankivsk Shelter. The cost of the project is 5,750 UAH ($719).
A special project that raises concerns among the public is collecting charitable contributions in stores and restaurants. Our Foundation installed transparent boxes that are sealed in a special way and are assigned a number. When the fundraising is over, volunteers from the foundation and a representative from the store where the box is installed open the box together, count the money raised, and do all the necessary paperwork. To gain trust among the public, our Foundation invites journalists to be present when the boxes are open. All the donations are recorded appropriately in the accounting books.
Our Foundation raised 3,819 UAH ($477) in stores and restaurants during 2009-2011.
We began collaborating with Checz foundation “Caritas”, and we have successfully implemented the project “Adoption at a Distance”. The project covers five children with serious health conditions.
Administrative Costs
Our Foundation does not have a separate office and does not spend money for rent and utilities. All the administrative work is done in the living room of the founder of the organization.
Our Foundation does not have full-time employees and does not pay salaries. All the money raised are used for the activities outlined in the bylaws of the Foundation.
All the administrative expenses, such as office supplies, phone, internet, etc are covered by the volunteers of the Foundation.
All the donations are used for the charitable projects.
Bank fees during 2009 – 2011 were 710 UAH ($89)
As of January 1, 2012, the cash balance of the Foundation is 41,529 UAH ($5,191).

The six-month-old baby of 870 mm weight and 35 cm height frightened the doctors of the maternity hospital. No one knew what would happen to the baby; whether would she cope with this and whether would she be able to live a full life in the future.
