Arina Zhurakovska Is Waiting for Rehabilitation Sessions

In the second half of March, Arina was able to go through a two-week treatment at the rehabilitation center of the regional children’s hospital. The doctors prescribed physical therapy on her right extremities and on her back.

 

Arina had consultations with a speech therapist, psychologist, ophthalmologist, and orthopedic specialist. The first three doctors did not see any pathology. The orthopedic surgeon noticed that Arina’s right arm is shorter in the shoulder and in the forearm  by 1.5 cm.

 

Because of the treatment, the muscle tone decreased in the right limbs. The girl began to use the right hand more often. In spite of her early age, Arina understands that she has to work on herself a lot. Arina’s mother is working on exercises with Arina every day. They work together on improving fine motor skills of the right hand, do some strength and stretching exercises.

 

Ludmila, Arina’s mother, filled an application at the Social Services department to receive wall bars that will allow Arina to do more exercises at home. Ludmila is doing all she can to fight the cerebral palsy. Now, when Arina has achieved a lot of good results, they should not stop.

 

May 7, Arina needs to begin a new rehabilitation session at the International Clinic in Truskavets. It depends on us if Arina will be able to do it because we still need to raise 3,575UAH ($447). We are turning to all kind and caring people: give Arina a chance to have healthy childhood.
