Every year, during the Christmas holidays, the volunteer team of Charitable Foundation “You are an Angel” visits patients of the OncoHematology department of the regional children's hospital with a Christmas carol.
Complex cancer disease does not allow children and their parents to leave the hospital, thus it leaves them the opportunity to plunge into the Christmas mystery, caroling at the festive table with family and friends. The OncoHematology department become for them a small Bethlehem hut where, along with a joyful carol, there is sadness, crying, pain, and despair....
Every year we sing Christmas carols to cheer up patients and their relatives. We glorify the newborn Christ together with children, parents and medical staff. Voiced carols, magical sounds of guitar, violin, dulcimer and spiritual unity help all of us for a moment to forget about daily worries, sores, and unpleasant moments of the exhausting treatment. Together we celebrate and share the joy of Christmas. It is wonderful when we are all together!
For reference. Due to quarantine restrictions, Charitable Foundation “You are an Angel” was forced to stop conducting weekly art therapy classes in the OncoHematology department. The foundation’s team has conducted this type of therapy for more than ten years here. The art therapy classes aims to help children distract themselves from exhausting treatment, believe in themselves, their strength, raise personal self-esteem and adjust to a positive emotional and psychological state. Children are very fond of such classes, willing to attend them. We hope that soon our creative gatherings will resume, and we will meet again more often.

Evelyna Gladiy
Evelina has almost turned her five yet. The life story of this cute girl started in April 2016. Evelina is an early bird who came in life too early from her mother's tummy. The six-month-old baby of 870 mm weight and 35 cm height frightened the doctors of the maternity hospital. No one knew what would happen to the baby; whether would she cope with this and whether would she be able to live a full life in the future.
