June 22- June 30, 2013 in the building of fortress “Bastion” a traveling exhibition “Charity Through Camera Lens” will be open to the public. The organizer of the exhibition is the charitable foundation “Ty Anhel” .

The exhibition “Charity Through Camera Lens” presents the best 40 photographs selected out of 630 that we received from all the corners of Ukraine. Photographers recorded the moments of philanthropy in education, culture, healthcare, social protection, community lives, and volunteering through the eyes of the children who benefit from it.

We are happy that we have an opportunity to present the exhibition  “Charity Through Camera Lens” in our city. The displayed artworks convince us that the idea of  the philanthropy is multifaceted, and all the people can be a part of it at work, on a picnic in a park, at school, and in many other places. We hope to change some of the stereotypes that our society has when it comes to charity, especially those related to the financial component. Philanthropy is much easier. Even when you do not have possibility to donate money, you can still help in many other ways. We hope that our exhibition will communicate this message.

Our partner in organizing the photography exhibition is the mobile phone service provider Life:). Thanks to Life:), the exhibition will be visiting 11 regions of Ukraine. It has already visited Kirovograd. Later it will be displayed in Harkiv, Cherkassy, Zhytomyr, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporizzhia, Vinniza, Kryviy Rig, Simpheropol, Uzhgorod.

The mobile phone service provider Life:) supports  the exhibition because we hope that it will attract attention of the general public to the challenges of human lives. We would like to show smiles on faces of people who are among us and who face difficult circumstances and deserve to have bright and fulfilled lives. To make somebody happy, we do not have to feel sorry for people, we just need to care. Thanks to all the photographers who managed to feel and convey the idea of philanthropy.

To ensure the fair selection of the artworks, we invited professionals and amateurs to be our judges. Some judges were professional photographers, but not so knowledgeable in the matters of philanthropy, others were active philanthropists, but not photographers.

The exhibition  “Charity Through Camera Lens” offers to the journalist stories about people who do not get often in the news, yet they attract attention of the readers. These people reveal us the secret how to become rich by giving and to be happy while facing life challenges.
