Vacation trip for the orphans from Ivano-Frankivsk shelter

Summer is over, and all our memories about vacations at seaside or on a riverbank are in the past. Some children, however, did not have a chance to have summer vacation. Orphans usually spend their summer in the orphanage or in the shelter.

 

Wonderful fall weather gave us an opportunity to catch up with vacation, and we decided to organize a trip for the orphans from Ivano-Frankivsk shelter and for the children from troubled families from Ivano-Frankivsk Region.

 

Our vacation was wonderful, and we saw positive emotions in children who are so misfortunate in life. Read more about our trip.

 

One sunny afternoon, 16 boys and girls and their teachers arrived to the resort “Vysokiy Pereval” in a picturesque mountain village Vishkiv that is 800 m above the sea level.

The resort workers welcomed us and showed the kids their rooms and all the territory of the resort. Children really liked the local zoo. Behind the bars, children saw real deer and they had a chance to feed them from their hands. It looks like the deer like the cookies that our children were giving them.

 

 

 

Children were excited to see the spacious billiard hall where they tried to hit the balls with billiard stick, swing sets outside, wooden bridge across the mountain river, a huge valley from which they could see the whole village and many other interesting places.

 

 


Boys and girls were impressed with what they saw and they tried not to miss a single thing that our guide was showing them. It is not surprising that children liked everything. Many of them have never seen anything that beautiful and they could not even imagine that they would ever have an opportunity to make such trip.

 

The most exiting part of our trip was the swimming pool with impeccably clean water. Our kids went to swim there right after dinner.

 

 


On that day, kids were riding horses, eating ice-cream and grapes, lingered on the forest glade, and enjoyed the warm sun and the fresh mountain air.

 

 


 

In the evening, the children had fun on the swing sets; they went for walks on the territory of the resort, and exercised in the gym. Everybody went to bed tired, and everybody was looking forward to the next day.

 

 

Because it was raining all night, the weather was not so good the next day, but it did not impact the mood of the kids. Right after breakfast, we went  on a field trip to the mountains. It felt like the best day in kids’ lives

.

 


 

Unfortunately, time flies, and we had to say good bye to the children. Some on them went back to the shelter, and some of them went to the foster families.

 

We are glad that we had an opportunity to organize a wonderful vacation for these kids and make them feel that they were not alone.
