Do you often give cards to your loved ones? Do you know that this small piece of cardboard has its history? The first card was made in 15th century and now is in one of the Britain’s museums? We dedicated to this cardboard card our art-therapy class on May 31.

To make cards used a variety of materials, for example colored cardboard, clay, beads, different types of grains, buttons, ribbons, and stickers.

Using all these materials helps children  to develop imagination and to express  themselves.

Eleven children attended the class, and we made cards for our loved ones: parents and doctors. Some kids made several cards. Out of the shapes that were available to kids, most of them chose hearts and suns and it means that that kids’ hearts are filled with love to the people who surround them.

At the end of the class we organized an exhibition of the kids’ artworks, and after that the cards were given to their recepients.

We are looking forward the next class. We will tell you next week what we are going to make.
