Ivanka Kusan Is Waiting for the Medical Tests Results

Six weeks during which Ivanka could enjoy being home with her friends, relatives, and neighbors in her native village Goroholino went fast. The trials that Ivanka is going through made her appreciate  even more the simple things in life such the nature around and the warmth of her house. All the little patients in the department of hematology do miss that a lot.
 
 
Behind are the long months of the chemotherapy that was very hard on Ivanka. Because of the problems with kidneys, the treatment had to be suspended for almost six months. Thank God, Ivanka was able to find the strength to go through the chemotherapy prescribed  by the protocol to the very end, and after that she underwent the radiation therapy.
 
 
The radiation therapy was three months long and it consisted of two courses. The first course consisted of twenty radiation sessions, and after a three week break the second course consisted of eighteen sessions.
 
 
Like all other patients who undergo the radiation therapy Ivanka had side effects, but in general she was courageous and she went through all the trials.
 
 
When the treatment was over, Ivanka could go home for one month and half. At home, Ivanka studied hard because she plans to apply to college next year. Of all the admission exams, the language arts is the easiest for her. Chemistry and biology are harder because she missed so much material at school and now she needs to catch up.
 
 
It seems that most of the time at home Ivanka was spending with her younger sister Nadia about which she is talking with great enthusiasm.  The sisters are separated today, and Ivanka already misses Nadia. Nadia is 20  months old, she is very active, and she needs a lot of attention. Ivanka’s family is big: she has three sisters and a brother, but Nadia seems to be the biggest joy in the family. Nadia was born when Ivanka was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease. It is hard to imagine what the girls’ mother was feeling when days after Nadia was born she had to begin the long battle for her oldest daughter’s life.
 
 
November 30 Ivanka was admitted to the hospital for medical testings. The further treatment will be determined based on the test results.
 
 
Medical tests are important at this point in Ivanka’s life. The most important day is Monday, December 3rd, when Ivanka is going to have computer tomography.  We hope and believe that with God’s help the results will be good and the doctors ascertain the remission. We ask all the people support Ivanka with deep and sincere prayer. We ask God to heal Ivanka completely.
