Children left with parental care celebrated a Generous Evening in the Carpathians

Children from the Interregional Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children in Medynia of Halych district spent unforgettable weekends in the Carpathians.
 
Vyshkiv village of Dolyna region welcomed 21 children. They had rest, gained strength, and most importantly, celebrated Holy Evening and Twelfth Day in the best family traditions of the Ukrainian people.
 
The children, as usual, savored kutia and Lenten fare during the Holy Evening. They caroled and later visited locals in their homes to announce in their carols and songs the birth of Christ. They also visited the ancient local church, caroled for the local parish, and then went on a river together to consecrate the Jordan Water.
 
 
Children’s visit to the mountains was accompanied by a lot of entertainment – visiting a pool, sledding on the snowy slopes of Vyshkiv, visiting a pizzeria, a trip to the Carpathian tram, a visit to the Goshiv monastery.
 
 
 
 
 
Thank you for the hospitality and warm welcome of our children to the staff of the resort “High Pass” (Vysokiy Pereval). We are also grateful to our new friends from the village of Yamnytsia – the NGO “Youth Alliance of Yamnytsia”, which financially supported the project “Christmas Together” and volunteers personally visited the children during their holiday.
 
We also thank our old friends who support us in our way of care of children in difficult circumstances. They are Taras Pavlus, Maria Pivtorak, priest Igor Nevinsky, and parishioners of the Church of John the Baptist of the Ecumenical Patriarch of Lisbon.
 
Let us remind you that the project “Christmas Together” was launched to give children the atmosphere of a real family holiday. Since these children are in difficult circumstances, just few of them had the possibility to visit their friends and/or relatives with a Christmas carol. They rarely follow family customs and traditions because they just don't know them. The Christmas Together project by “You are an Angel” Foundation has been in operation for several years. Children from various social institutions cared by the Foundation participate in.
