Petrykivka painting looks impressive on any subject: plate, pen, or Easter egg or even nail art. This painting derives from Petrykivka village of Dnipro region and is famous over the world. In order to learn how to create such beauty, one should know four types of smear – "comb", "seed", "nut" and "transient smear". The children now know all this.

Our wards painted on wood with acrylic paints in a art therapy master-class. By the way, our art therapist Maria Pazynuk even presented her painted wooden plates at the show, so it was easy to share her skills to children. Kids with great pleasure studied Petrykivka painting basics, all work performed brilliantly. As it turned out, it's quite easy to do- to begin flower color creation one should apply two colors (red and yellow) on a brush, the same technology is used to draw a leaf, in the "Petrykivka" painting it is called "transient smear".

At the master class 14-year-old mistress Petrikivka painting Sophia helped Maria. We thank a lot to Natalia Nimchuk who treated children with sweets after the master-class and Eugene for the wonderful photos.
