Last week, at the end of art-therapy class, our volunteer Mariia Pazyniuk promised to introduce the basics of Petrykivsky painting to patients of Ivano-frankivsk Oncohematology Department. We keep our promises! So that day, having different paints, brushes and good mood, we began a regular class.

Petrykivka is a kind of  traditional ukrainian decorative national painting, which originates from Petrykivka village, Dnipropetrovsk oblast. Household items, that were decorated with ornaments in Petrykivka style, preserved from seventeenth century!

The boys did not take the idea to paint flowers, at the beginning of our lesson, however, in a moment, when our volunteer Mariia painted the first petal of flowers, they changed their mind! Every wanted to learn how to paint such masterpieces. We even did not notice how from other wards children joined our masterclass. Fantasy and energy of our small wards exceeded all expectations. Someone had time to paint five pictures and someone painted except pictures the table and him- or herself :)

Actually, the most important is that every child returned to the ward with bright pictures, that he or she made by him- or herself and with good mood that day.

CH “Ty Anhel” expresses the words of sincere gratefulness to Mariia Pazyniuk.
