Random Act of Kindness Day

День Random Act of Kindness Day is celebrated in the whole world on February 17, and the volunteers of the charitable foundation “Ty Anhel” celebrated it with their young friends – the children from Ivano-Frankivsk Shelter.  We met the children in the playroom.  For three hours the shelter turned into a concert hall with lots of music, songs, games, and fun competitions.  The youngest kids were coloring, drawing, and eating candy that we brought them. 
 
 
Later we all had tea with cake and we could socialize. Kids shared with us their problems, needs, and concerns. We were touched  to hear  their stories;  by sadness in their eyes we could tell that their souls are wounded, and that each one of them dreams to live differently, to live with mom and dad and to have love and understanding.  
 
 
The sincere conversation ended with a nice surprise for the children.  All the children received socks, slippers, sweet treats, and  art supplies. Yet we believe that the most memorable  gift for the children will be our friendship. 
 
 
 
As we were returning home, we were thinking about the difficult destiny of the orphaned children and about their future after they leave the shelter. We understood one more time that   it is not just gifts that matter, but simple and sincere friendship and infinite  kindness.
 
We thank everybody who made our visit to the children’s shelter possible. Thanks to our friends and partners from Czech Republic-CF "Caritas. Thanks to Mikola Ivaskiv and Maria, our representatives in Portugal (for sending us socks, slippers, and towels). Thanks to our partners from the company “Gorenie”, especially we are grateful to Ludmila Suhiniy (sweet treats, clothes, art supplies, toys), Yaroslava Dubenko, our representative in the USA (sweet treats and art supplies), Ludmila and Petro Gudzel, our representative in Lviv (sweet treats), and Rostislav Andrusiv and Vitaly Voloshin (for providing transportation).
 
We thank our friends Rostislav Andrusiv for organizing the entertainment program for the children and Yury Valkiv for taking pictures during the event.
 
We are happy to have all this support and we are proud that we have good friends that help us to do good!
