A class for social and domestic orientation was opened at the Yabluniv special general education boarding school. It was a waited event both for children and the school administration, which on their efforts provided classroom major overhaul and made all conditions for comfortable children's studying. We equipped it with new furniture and modern household electric appliances.

 

Quite often, our foundation volunteers faced with the fact children brought up in institutions are not adapted for their independent life, because they accustomed to get everything on a silver plate. Boys and girls do not know and are not able to do the basic everyday things – how to cook to eat, wash and iron clothes, wash dishes, sweep the floor. This problem is especially acute in educational institutions, raising special children with mental and physical disabilities. Yabluniv special boarding school is an aforementioned educational institution. 

From now, children under training instructors’ guidance will be able to learn how to prepare meals, wash dishes, to care for kitchen utensils and to use them. We believe that these basic practical skills will be useful for a child, who will come out of the institution and meet face-to-face with adults and unpredictable life!

This classroom became a relaxation room, a place of home and personal space of children.
