February 15 is the International Childhood Cancer Day. This is a celebration of victory over cancer. We are very proud that partially the victories of Carpathian children were driven by us, as during last year 2016 the Fund “TyAnhel” helped to buy medicine for the children with cancer from  the Ivano-Frankivsk regional children’s hospital in the amount of 419.541,71 hryvna. We remember all the ups and downs of our children during the year – though how difficult it was for them to go through the chemotherapy – they bravely bared the pain and went forward. And this is their victory.

 

The press conference on the Childhood Cancer Day took place in the regional children’s hospital. The Head of Oncology and hematology department Alla Ivanenko summarized that 70% of the children will recover if the disease will be diagnosed on time. At the moment there are 100 kids in the department, 82 of them are on a remission stage already or have recovered but still need medical control. The grandmother of Artem Hrytsyuk was also present there. With tears in her eyes she told the difficult story of her grandson, how he was coping with the brain tumor. To recall, Artem is being growned up and is dependent on two pensioners, who do not have any alternative income except their pensions. So we also ask to help the granny Olga Ivanivna and other patients of the cancer department who also have difficult situations.
