Artem Gritsyuk − life before and after cancer

Do you remember our ward Artem Hrytsyuk? For whom we raised funds with the whole state for brain cancer treatment? He recovered and not is preparing for school. He is fine. But, we want to tell you a story about his past and those people who really made all effort to keep the child alive.
 
“The night is dark. Mom yells and put me out of the house to go buy her alcohol. Grandmother, it’s so dark outside, so scary, dogs bark…”, - said Artem to his grandmother on his life with his mother in Transcarpathia.
 
Grandparents raised the boy for several years. Who knows, what would happen to the 14-year-old boy without his grandmother Olga Gritsyuk from Kosiv district. She brought him back to life. She brought back herself and even got her husband back on his feet.
 
"In 2014, the grandson began to live with us, - says Olga Gritsyuk. He looked scary − pale, thin. He had no clothes. And the one that was − torn and worn. In the third grade the child could neither read nor write", says grandmother Olga.
 
In April 2016, he was diagnosed with a terrible ailment − brain cancer. MRI revealed a tumor of 3 in 5 cm in size.
 
"I was completely lost, remind Olga Ivanovna. − Everything just snuck up on me. The son was abroad then. The husband was ill. I was left alone with the ill grandson. At the same time, she just ached after her surgery: I also had oncology of the second stage, cut out a tumor of the bowel".
 
Fortunately, all is over. Now the family is happy. They live together: Artem, grandmother, grandfather and father. How they managed to get through these terrible times - read more in the newspaper "Halytsky Correspondent".
